    College Football

It's back boys and girls and I can't wait until Tennessee and Cal plays next weekend! Which I've said a lot of bold things about the team but hell I'm going to stick with what I said! I believe the Vols man handle the bears and win the east! But in all reality I could be saying all this just because I'm a fan.

Who is the best team in the country yall? Any thoughts?

    Re: College Football

The pre-season poll is stupid and can be unfair to some teams. IMO the poll should not come out until October. Let the teams get started and let's see how good they are, not how sports writers think they are now. What is the big hurry to rank them before they step on the field? College football is the greatest sport with the most screwed up system.

The discrepency between VT, FSU, and Miami is mindblowing. Theres little difference between any of those 3 teams.

Entering THIS season, sure. But the pollsters look at who's trending upward, and Miami/FSU haven't done anything on the field yet to trend that way, though I think those who have been keeping a pulse on those two programs know how close they are to being back in national & ACC contention after the changes both made in the offseason.

I'll go ahead and be the one to point out the pink elephant in the room. The voters are going to give VT more leniency in the polls due to the tragedy earlier this year. It's a good story if they succeed in memory of those people, and the pollsters (coaches & media alike) eat that stuff up. Expect them to get at least anywhere from 2 to 5 spots better than what they actually are due to the sympathy vote in the polls.
